What is the difference between the XRP and the Rcam?
It was called Rcam in the past. Today it is called the Motocam XRP which stands for MotoCam eXtreme Recording Package.

I was wondering what cameras will connect to the XRP?
Most Sony and Canon models, along with some JVC, Samsung, etc. See PDF file we have.

What kind of mounting applications do you offer for a race bike?
We offer: RAM mounts for bike – ball and socket, All weather, double hook Velcro – for helmet option or bike option, and Molded bullet camera housing – for bike.Which helmet cam would be the best for motocross?

I like the idea of being able to film me and my friends riding, dirt bikes. Is there a good way to mount this camera to my dirt bike, or my helmet? Also how long can I record for at one time? Then when I am done recording can i keep recording later or do I have to put the video onto my computer before I can record anymore?
Using HD, you can record for 2 hours before changing batteries. We will offer a add-on pack to increase this to 4 hours next month. You must carry multiple SD cards if you don’t plan on downloading the footage to a laptop.

I serve as a Baja off-road guide for tourists either in motorcycles or off-road cars. Please recommend me about which camera is best for my purpose., the helmet camera looks very good.

My bike has battery; can I use its power for the XRP?
Yes! Get the Motocam XRP with the bike mount package.

Do you put the camcorder in a backpack? Or is the camera “off-Rider” like in the pits, or on the sidelines?
Generally a backpack is a safe place to place your Video Camera. So no the XRP system isn’t a wireless system. We offer the ‘ShockBox’ which houses the MotoCam-HD, and the XRP system in a shock resistant, water resistant case for only $75.

How Does the XRP system work? Does it connect to a camcorder? Does the camera have to attach to a video camera?
The XRP system originally was made to hook up to the standard Composite inputs of a home video camera. Now we also offer the MotoCam-HD, which is a digital video recorder. So no need to have a camcorder we can outfit you with a recording device.

Does it require tapes? I'm looking for the nuts and bolts of how it works.
Yes, it requires tapes or SD Memory cards with new MotoCam HD
                     

 

MotoCam MVP

What is the system used for?
The MotoCam focuses on providing a real-time, rear-view video display that assists and compliments your vehicle's existing mirrors. It gives you an extra sense of awareness and convenience when driving or riding.

What are the display sizes?
The display is currently available in two sizes: (4inches and 7-inches).

Do the images appear in color?
Yes, The MotoCam MVP uses full color with the display and camera during the daytime, at night the camera automaticly switchs to B&W to optimize low light visability.

Does the system work at night?
Yes, the 4-inch system comes with an infrared (IR) camera that provides its own light source with 12 built-in IR LEDs. The LEDs surround the lens of the camera. The display's image will automatically change from color to black-and-white when the light source is reduced. This allows you to see images up to 35 feet in the dark.

Does the system record?
Yes, with the optional record cable, the system will directly interface with any standard camcorder that has a video input (sold separately). Please be sure to purchase a record cable with your system, and contact us about compatible camcorders.

What kind of power does the system use?
The whole package operates on any standard battery that provides at least 12-volts of power.

Is the system waterproof?
The system is water-resistant. The display and camera will operate fine in an average rain shower, but do not submerge or apply extreme amounts of water to the units for an extended amount of time.

Do the cameras offer a zoom feature?
The zoom feature is no longer available with The MotoCam systems. We can offer

What is required for installation?
Basic tools will be sufficient for a quick install. Depending on the vehicle and location of the display, camera, and mounts, professional installation may be required for a clean install.

The  RPM, MPH, and Brake are all recorded onto your realtime video.

Yes, if your using a camcorder, but you can use SD cards with the MotoCam HD

Can I watch video playback on the HD?
Yes, Directly on the 2.5" LCD Dysplay.

Dose the HD use my Bukes Power Supply also?
No the HD is powered by it's own Rechargable Battery pack.

How long do the Battery pack last?
On a full charge the battery can last over 2.5 hours

OK so the battery lasts 2.5 hours but how long can I record for on a SD memory card?
With a 1GB SD Memory Card You can record for the full 2.5 hours.
